Painting the Night Away

Tonight is going to be a busy night.

A friend and I are having an art show tomorrow, but unfortunately I haven't been able to devote the time needed to complete my pieces. That's nothing new -I typically do all my painting last minute - but this time it's really not good because my partner is submitting 100 pieces. One hundred! Granted, they're all small scale, but still; she's going to make me look like a fool!

I've only completed three pieces, all done last night, and I'm shooting for another three tonight/tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.

If you're available, come check it out. Not so much for my work, but for my partner's; it promises to be amazing.

Second Saturday Art Show @ Cuffs

First of all, for those of you whom have never gone and experienced Second Saturday, I definitely encourage you to do so. On the second Saturday of each month, galleries in Sacramento, California stay open for a Sacramento Art Walk late into the evening, allowing people to walk from gallery to gallery, viewing, experiencing and discovering local art galleries and meeting artists. It's a lot of fun and there are always a lot of great shows. Next week, on March 14th, my buddy Jim Sheperd is going to be having his first solo showing, so go out and support him. Here's the info:

Come on out and check out his artwork. I think he's going to have somewhere in the range of 100 portraits, plus there will be live shows, so it promises to be a good show. It's all ages and the best part - IT'S FREE!! You have no reason not to go. Also, all pieces will be on sale, so you might just snag yourself some fancy art.
