It looks like my school has officially become so large that instead of going to our academic directors to register for classes, we are now being required to do it on our own online. This itself isn't a big deal, but it does mean that the personal touch of our directors actually getting to know us is lost, and we have all instead simply become a number in the system.
Sorry everybody, the Jason you know and love is dead. From now on, please refer to me simply as 808542.

so true. Hi My name is 807321
ReplyDeleteI loved registering online, welcome to the 21st century. I don't even know how I would register at the register's office.
ReplyDeleteIt's not the act of registering online that I'm opposed to; I had to do that when I went to CRC and it's no big deal. It's the fact that it is just another step in the depersonalization of my school. First, the school president and Dean of Academic Affairs left (both of whom knew students on a first name basis), only to be replaced by a new president, who I don't see nearly as much as I did that previous president, and new Dean, who seems like he couldn't care less about actually getting to know the students.
